A special form of massage where the masseur's hands are replaced by a jet of water. The treatment is performed in a so-called "tangentor" bath, hence the common name. The treatment involves both the thermal effect of the water temperature and the mechanical action of the massage. As with traditional massage, the tone of the muscles is affected. In the case of increased muscle tone, the aim is to relax the muscle, and in the case of decreased muscle tone, to increase it.
