Mud treatment is not usually applied to the whole body, unlike medicinal water. The whole body is not immersed in water, so the physical effects of the spa treatments are only partially achieved with mud treatments. Mud treatments have a higher concentration of minerals on the treated body part, so the local effect is stronger and the overall effect is milder than that of thermal water. It is much easier to carry out partial and targeted treatments with mud. It is most often used to treat chronic musculoskeletal complaints and diseases, but it can also be effective in treating certain gynaecological problems.
