In the spring of 2018, the Mórahalmi Health Promotion Office (EFI) was launched with the funding of the EFOP-1.8.19-17-2017-00019 project "Health Promotion in the Sandy Hills", which aims to improve and develop the physical, mental and social well-being and health of the people living in the Mórahalmi district.
What is health promotion?
Health promotion is an activity aimed at improving the population's knowledge of health, maintaining health and preventing health-related harm and disease. It is a process whereby individuals increase their skills to improve their own health and acquire the ability to maintain a healthy lifestyle and adapt to a changing environment.
The tasks and activities of the EFI:
- increasing knowledge about health
- developing healthy behaviour
- preventing harm and disease that can endanger health
Our services:
Individual and community health promotion programmes:
- Individual dietary advice with a dietician
- Individual life coaching, supportive conversation with a psychologist
- Support for smoking cessation
- Helping to overcome alcohol dependence
- Programmes to encourage regular physical activity
- Running lifestyle and patient clubs
- Health promotion programmes for children and active age groups
- Keeping older people in community, supporting their mental and physical activity
- Health Surveys
- Organisation of prevention lectures, programmes and group activities
- Running other health promotion programmes
Health communication:
- Establishing and maintaining cooperation in the district
- Healthy lifestyle education (Facebook, Website)
- Local campaigns for international and national health days
- Participation in local events and activities

We are available in person and by phone during working hours, and we will respond to e-mail enquiries as soon as possible. Due to programmes and external events, we may be out of office.
During office hours, we welcome visitors without prior appointment, provide information about our programmes and assess needs. Individual consultations (psychological, dietary) are available by appointment.

2.) Individual nutrition counselling with a dietician
A dietetic consultation is particularly recommended in the following cases:
- Overweight
- Fat metabolism disorder (elevated cholesterol; triglyceride levels)
- High blood pressure
- Carbohydrate metabolism disorder (insulin resistance, gestational diabetes, type 2 diabetes)
- Digestive system problems
Application and conditions:
- appointment booking at the Medical Reception of the Móra-Vitál Outpatient and Spa Centre,
- Completion of a 3-day meal diary (please ask for the form when making an appointment and bring it with you)
- previous laboratory results and medical findings presented at the counselling session (if available).
